In 1970, Jim O'Neal started attending races with spare tires and parts to sell to local riders. His first major product was Preston Petty fenders, which quickly became popular as off-road racing grew in popularity and demand for better parts, apparel, and accessories increased. This led to the founding of Jim O’Neal Distributing.

The features of the products include a shell constructed with durable polycarbonate, a shell weight (size large) of 1500 grams (50), an ultra-plush removable/washable padded liner that keeps the rider cool and dry by wicking away sweat, an adjustable visor design, intake and exhaust vents for ventilation and cooling, durable multi-colored clear coated graphics, and compliance with DOT, ECE 22-05, and AS/NZS safety standards. The construction is of 100% polyester polycarbonate/ABS shell, with a coolmax liner that keeps the rider cool and dry by wicking away sweat. Multiple air vents contribute to maintaining a cool and dry environment for the rider, and there is an adjustable visor design. The product meets DOT, ECE 22-05, and AS/NZS safety standards, and the fit type is universal.
